Job Content
As lead mechanical engineer you will be involved in the development of our thriving company with a strong focus on FMCG industries (food, drinks, diary, care products). We serve our clients worldwide from our many (international based) offices.
You will be involved in drafting the Program of Requirements, coordinate the design and providing construction supervision of mechanical installations. Desiging and engineering in 3D CAD-software is part of the job, as is providing (technical) coaching to junior and medior colleagues.

With your extensive experience you will be challenged to work on very complex multi disciplinairy designs in which coordination and collaboration is key, to built a strong team and create an extensive network of clients.

The lead engineer role initially is focussing on the Mechanical scope.

Job Description
• Responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution and completion of Mechanical and Plumbing Design & Engineering Work.
• Closely monitor and supervise the Contractors/ Subcontractors to ensure proper installation and commissioning of all Mechanical and Plumbing Installations during the construction phase

Main Responsibilities
• Develop narrative specifications (Program of Requirements) that defines the technical requirements to be adopted on all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing work. The latter in close collaboration with the Client, Architect and the Project Manager.
• Extensive experience with Design & Engineering of: HVAC Equipment’s, Firefighting Equipment’s, Fire hose racks, External hydrant system, Sprinklers System, Gas Suppressions System, Diesel pump, Fire water Tank, Chillers, Air compressors, Pumps, Boilers, Generating plants, Sanitary installations and Effluent Treatment plan, Waste water (treatment) plants and drainage/earthing work, Manufacturing Equipment’s, CO2 systems, etc.
• Extensive experience with Design & Engineering of utility systems, meaning: steam system, compressed air system, chilled water system, gas systems, process water, etc
• Extensive experience with Industrial projects (production plants FMCG/F&B) and related facilities.
• Experience in projects for Multinational Clients is preferred.
• Provides different alternative solutions to a situation if requested.
• Extensive experience in outlining the clients process in clear specifications, drafting (3D) layouts, specifying, calculating and dimensioning equipment and pipes.
• Technical Program of Requirements for M&P services.
• Design & Engineering of all applicable phases.
• Interface management with other disciplines and parties (i.e. Consultants, Vendors, Subcontractors, Equipment Suppliers, etc.) performing other Mechanical and Plumbing activities.
• Continually monitors performance of all assigned Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing personnel.
• Ensures quality control procedures are being followed and maintained.
• Controls Mechanical and Plumbing Contractors cost.
• Supervises the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Works during Construction
• Provides technical advice and assistance to Contractors staff as requested.
• Mentor and coach junior staff within the department
• Secure and monitor quality checks on all MEP related services from the MEP team
• Maintain connection with MEP colleagues around the globe
• Build a team of MEP colleagues with focus on leading markets with client in manufacturing industries and datacanters

Minimum qualifications, skills and experience
• 10-15 years practical experience
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• COREN registered and/or any other relevant certification.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, MS Project, presentation abilities, AUTOCAD, REVIT and all related software’s for MP design & engineering works
